P.I.T. Crew

(Parent Involvement Team)

This team of parents, together with Family of Christ staff, brainstorm, plan and coordinate school activities and fundraising events. These events help to bring families together and build relationships, not to mention they are just plain fun. While we do have recurring events, P.I.T. Crew gives parents a chance to use their creativity for fresh ideas that cater to the current needs of the school and our families.

This one-year commitment includes four planning meetings throughout the year. Designated teams come together to organize specific events. If you would like more information about this program or would like to volunteer, please contact School Director Sue Nelson at snelson@focaz.org. P.I.T Crew is a great way to meet other parents, build relationships and bring joy to our kids and families.

Past activities have included Noah’s Ark Trunk-and-Treat, Daddy Daughter Dance and Mom’s Night Out.

“My son, Reece, has been going to Family of Christ for two years. The first year went like this… Walk in, sign in, say hello, drop off, sign out, pick up and say goodbye. We never really went to any of the activities offered either because I really didn’t know anyone yet. Then Sue approached me and asked if I would serve on the P.I.T. Crew (Parent Involvement Team). It was the most wonderful thing that could have happened to me and my family. #1. I saw first-hand how much time and effort goes into all the fun activities at Family of Christ. Even though there was work involved, it was a lot of fun, and I never minded it. #2. I met so many other people and got to know the staff much better. #3. I had some input on what was going on at my son’s school, and I had an opportunity to help make it better. In the end Sue asked me to serve again, and, without question, I said yes! I would highly recommend joining the P.I.T. Crew!”
